Hello, Darling Good Treasures and Spoil Slaves! Today I am going to help you accommodate me most efficiently by providing information for your future planning purposes. Believe it or not (actually, believe it, believe everything I tell you!) it’s time to think ahead to [Select Winter Holiday] Presents, Birthday Presents and Valentine’s Day Presents!
Why so early? It’s all in the timing… Yule season begins the day after Thanksgiving, and then there’s a month until Christmas. Then it’s only six weeks until my Birthday, which is the day before Valentine’s Day. See? We both have some planning to do!
Right now I am feeling very loved and spoiled up, and I like to have phases of crazytime presents interspersed with taking the time to enjoy it all to the fullest. So I’m thinking for November I would love a little light wish list spoiling, just enough that I don’t feel neglected and to provide for emergent desires. (I don’t go to the store to buy anything Amazon has that I could wait a week for without putting it on my wish list first.) Of course, keep up with the projects I will be putting out, and if you crave to do a little extra for me, buy my manipulatively overpriced collectible photos or send me more e-mail. Keep up the e-mail at all times in any case, even when in my chaos I can’t keep up with as many return messages as I would like it always means a happy grin to get a piece of Treasure-mail! Otherwise, focus on building a fun holiday spoiling stockpile!
Then, a week before Thanksgiving, I’m going to remove the wishlist from public access, and spend the week building the Ultimate Santa List, probably of 100 of my most desired material objects commercially available. I will then make the list public again as soon as it turns Black Friday (in Bloomington) and the frenzy may begin. It better, I’ll look sort of silly otherwise now!
This aspect is another reason you need forewarning now — Sometimes more than one person feels drawn to provide me with a particular thing they know I want badly, or a type of item, like fine jewelry, is extremely popular. Therefore, in fairness, everyone has the opportunity to know in advance when the first opportunity to buy gifts for all winter holidays will be and plan accordingly. Don’t all bunch up though! The best case scenario is for it to snow package deliveries steady the whole month! For some, deliberately waiting to do Christmas later in the month may be fun, because then you can help clean up on things that I want to make sure not to miss out on. Another possibility is that the 100 item list may all disappear, and I will need to go to a Bonus List likely to include a variety of things not available or found the first time I shopped, practical things, follow-ups, and things more decadent than I let myself be the first time. I think the last category would be the most popular of those, somehow!
So! That brings us to the end of the year! After New Year’s we should dial it back to Taking It All In levels, perhaps no gifts at all for the first week or two, but let’s not be hasty at this point… Re-charging for another round, which I will initiate by again taking my list down for a while at the end of January then revealing the Birthday/Valentine’s List on Groundhog’s Day, February 2. I’m hoping that timing will be right for a nice flow of gifts the weeks before and after my Birthday.
Special opportunities and instructions may be available to Special Treasures for these, and any, occasion!
